male pine grosbeak on his way to the feeder

Four Seasons AlbertaTree Nursery

Alberta grown trees
Native Birds
We have also enhanced the environment on our nursery and have a great variety of new birds nesting here. Birds that were not common before we started.
For example we have several pairs of rose-breasted grosbeaks that come to the feeder and now even nest here.
Mountain Blue birds select a bird house and raise
a family each year
When we first started there were no Canada Geese nesting on site either. Nesting rafts, nesting bales and feeders encouraged them and now we have up to six pairs nesting each year
Purple Martins now reside in our two martin houses and there are at least seven pairs coming.
Project Feederwatch
We have participated in the Cornell University Feederwatch Program for the last ten years or so. This year we had a record number of pine grosbeaks come to the feeder, 25 at one time. They really like to eat the seed on the female green ash. The green ash is a must if you want to attract them.
This Merlin loves the place; the food comes to him
